For as long as i can remember i have had a love for painting and
drawing. It developed from my father who also has a love of painting
and drawing.
I was awarded a GCSE grade 'A' in art when i left school. I started art
collage in a graphic design course which i attended for a grand total of
6 WEEKS.....Fool ! The collage said thy wanted me to stay as i had
great potential but the starving art student was never going to be my
thing. We will leave a place open for you if things dont work out in the
real world said the head of the design dept. I went back a total of
twenty years or so later to attend a water colour course with my friend
Norman Swales.
At the end of the course we were all judged on our works for points
towards our final course award for that year. Ive forgotten what level it
was because i cant find my certificates. We were all passed through
the first year and i was awarded two years credit on the level of skill.
The tutor said the panel thought i was at least two years in front of the
other students. Good for the ego....Norman wasnt pleased as he is
very competetive about his skills and arts. oops!

Any way here are some of the paintings i could find. A lot of these
are sketches done on site. I used to love painting alfresco and went
walking on many weekend adventures. Some are from imagination
and some from plans & photos.

| Goathland At Night |
This painting is a special one for me.I painted it while on holiday in the
North Yorkshire moors at Goathland the little village that is the setting
for ITVs Heartbeat. While we were there they were filming an episode
of Heartbeat. After they had finished the scene I asked the star of the
show Jason Durr to sign this painting I had done the night before. He
said it would be a disaster for him to spoil the painting. I reassured
him it was fine and he did sign it.(see thumbnail below to see
signature). This now is a bit of history for me and remains in my
private collection.
